The Straight Scoop:
- Anthony Scaramucci was fired on July 31st by newly hired White House Chief of Staff, retired General John Kelly. Scaramucci was initially hired as the White House Communications Director ten days earlier, replacing then White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer, who also held that position. Former White House Chief of Staff Rhince Priebus resigned the day after Scaramucci was hired.
- A few days prior to his firing, Scaramucci sat for an interview with the New Yorker magazine and discredited other staffers in the White House, namely former Chief of Staff Rhine Priebus, whom he called a “f**king paranoid schizophrenic” and “a paranoiac”, and Chief Strategist Steve Bannon, of whom he said “I’m not Steve Bannon, I’m not trying to suck my own c**k…I’m not trying to build my own brand off the f**king strength of the President. I’m here to serve the country.”
- John Kelly fired Scaramucci shortly after being sworn in as the new White House Chief of Staff.
